BIO

A little bit about me

My name is Harley Yearout. I am a recent graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. I am a sports journalist who loves all things sports. I am interested in broadcast journalism and sports talk radio. I have a passion for story telling and communicating with various groups of people. My story telling is concise, relevant and accurate.

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and spent the first 18 years of my life there. I was an athlete and won a state championship in basketball my senior year.

In college, I got immersed in student organizations quickly and moved my way up the chain in clubs. My senior year, I found myself as an assistant sports director for Blaze Radio and a Walter Cronkite Sports Network football and basketball reporter. I was a co-host of two radio shows, one of which recently won a national award for "Best Sports Talk Program."

My time at Arizona State provided me with opportunities to cover the Arizona Cardinals, MLB Arizona Fall League games and ASU football in coach Herm Edwards’ first year.

I look forward to continuing to develop as a reporter and journalist.
